Meet the Animals

The animals of the Magnolia Harbor sanctuary are all rescues with varying degrees of trauma and grief. Each animal at Magnolia Harbor will live out their lives knowing only love and compassion.

Their stories now have a purpose as they play an integral part of the therapeutic programming of Magnolia Harbor Carefarm in supporting traumatically bereaved humans.

Your support and sponsorship of any amount makes a tremendous difference in supporting the mission of Magnolia Harbor. Help us support bereaved humans and the rescue animals supporting those humans!

Kiwi & Caleb

Sponsor

Kiwi and Caleb were the first equine friends to join our carefarm family. Upon his initial rescue, Caleb was emaciated, injured, and in a kill pen at a horse auction. Kiwi was rounded up in connection with a Bureau of Land Management project. During the round up, Kiwi was separated from his mother at a very young age. He also sustained injuries to his face that required multiple reconstructive surgeries.

Both Kiwi and Caleb were originally rescued by our dear friend Esther Roberts of the former Starlight Farm Animal Sanctuary. They met at the rescue and have been buddies from day one! Kiwi and Caleb are a perfect fit to hold space for the hurting hearts of humans and love nothing more than to cuddle with human friends.

Magnolia & Cedar

Sponsor

Magnolia and Cedar are a bonded pair of siblings who needed a new home and we wanted to keep their little family together. Cedar is a snuggle buddy who loves to interact with most any human friend who is willing to chat and cuddle--and he may just try to style your hair with a professional goat hair cut nibble or two. Magnolia is a sassy girl and is the diva of the barn animals. She is full of curiosity and insists on knowing the happenings of all pasture activity.

Petey & Petnunia

Sponsor

Petey and Petunia are a bonded brother and sister pair originally rescued by a local horse rescue. When picking up some starving horses, the rescue found Petey and Petunia, who were then 5 weeks of age, in a small pen with no access to food or water and their mom nowhere in sight. Our friends at Fabled Farms Rescue and Sanctuary cared for them until they were old enough to be adopted into our sanctuary.

Petunia sings an opera when she thinks it is time for dinner! Petey greets all friends with cute piggy noises and, though a bit shy at first, warms up and loves a good back scratch.

Victor & Violet

Sponsor

Violet and Victor were rescued by our friends at Fabled Farms Rescue and Sanctuary. Both were emaciated, covered in manure, and freezing when originally rescued. Violet is a timid, sweet, steadfast, and loyal friend. Victor bounced back with gusto and is the self-proclaimed mayor and resident greeter of the farm!

Crackerjack & Clyde

Sponsor

Crackerjack and Clyde became fast friends when originally rescued by our friends at Fabled Farms Rescue and Sanctuary. Clyde is a 35-year-old mini-horse who was sold at several auctions. Unconditional love, belonging, and safety were unknown to him. Cracker Jack is a 5-year-old standard donkey who was unhandled and unfamiliar with human interaction. They are the best of friends and will only know love, compassion, and belonging for the rest of their lives.

Oak & Hickory

Sponsor

Hickory and Oak are the very best of friends and are also brothers. At 6-weeks old, they came into rescue very sick with multiple parasites. While recovering from their illness and settling into the sanctuary, these buddies were quiet and shy. Boy, did they surprise us! Now they are the Head of the Greeting Committee, curious about everything, and are filled with sass!

Maple & Beans

Sponsor

Little Mama Maple is the sweetest Mama to her babies–all 5 of them! Mama Maple came into the sanctuary of Magnolia Harbor after the elderly couple caring for her (and JuJu Bean and Hazel) died within one week of one another. Sometimes surprises come along with our animal frens, and along came Sugar, Rocky, Poppy, Ollie, and Myrtle. A central tenant of Magnolia Harbor is to honor the bonds of animals. Mama Maple will live out her life never having to worry about being separated from her babies. Watching the love shared between this little family is one of the sweetest things to which we bear witness every single day.

Sugar & Rocky

Sponsor

Sugar and Rocky were born to Mama Maple. They are brother and sister and ADORE one another. Rarely do you see one without the other close by…whether snuggling or playing, they are always together!

Hazel & Nuggy

Sponsor

Sweet Hazel is the mama of little Lily Nuggy. Born on 9/18/23, Nuggy was one of two babies for Hazel. Sweet Hazel is a bereaved Mama goat as she gave birth to a stillborn little one, Rose. Nuggy and Hazel are rarely more than a couple feet apart and have laid claim to their most cherished snuggle spot–the swing built by our Girl Scout Troop besties.

Daisy & Dahlia

Sponsor

Daisy and Dahlia came into rescue at 3-weeks old. Shortly after giving birth to them, their Mama died, leaving them orphaned. Daisy had struggled initially with feeding and was very malnourished. Our friends at Fabled Farm Rescue & Sanctuary worked really hard with Daisy to correct her issue with feeding. Once she finally got the hang of how to eat, she started thriving and has had no issues since! Daisy and Dahlia are bonded and love each other dearly.

Lavern & shirley

Sponsor

Lavern and Shirly were rescued from a hoarding situation in 2022. These sweet girls are bonded and peruse the pastures together, take naps together, and join the misadventures of their goat friends throughout the day.

Earl

Sponsor

Earl is a 6-year old, elderly, turkey who was surrendered to a rescue after his original family encountered some medical difficulties making caring for him hard. Earl is the self-proclaimed guard turkey and never misses a chance to greet his human friends to see what they are up to…and whether they brought him a treat!

Felicia & Frens

Sponsor

Forever the face of our chicken frens, Felicia’s spirit lives on throughout Magnolia Harbor Carefarm. Her sassy spirit deemed the entire chicken flock the “Felicia and Frens” flock. Though we had to say goodbye to Felicia in June 2024, her bestie, Bernice, and other chicken frens will continue living out their lives together in the safety of the Magnolia Harbor sanctuary.
